Hands-on Skills Training - Landon Catering Services

Landon Catering Services focuses on equipping Ugandan youth with practical, marketable skills in the catering industry. The program has trained more than 50 young people to date, with many securing employment or starting small businesses. In a country where youth unemployment is a significant challenge, these skills provide a sustainable income source, empowering individuals to support themselves and their families. Nescho Foundation’s support has allowed the program to expand its reach and upgrade equipment, making it possible to cater to events of all sizes. Beyond training, Landon Catering Services also secures catering gigs for trainees, providing them with real-life work experience.

London Production Band

The London Production Band, sponsored by Nescho Foundation, initially gained recognition for its family-centered music style, “Kadongo Kamu,” a genre that emphasizes traditional storytelling. The band, founded in the early 2000s, has since evolved to address workplace safety, creating songs on first aid and injury prevention. With Uganda’s growing industrial sector, workplace
safety has become crucial, and this band has educated an estimated 200,000 people across Uganda about safe practices at work through concerts, community events, and educational recordings. Supported by Nescho Foundation, the band brings important messages to rural and urban areas alike, helping reduce workplace injuries by educating employees and employers in a relatable way.

Bamubiru Mazima Bugagga Herbal Research

For over two decades, Bamubiru Mazima Bugagga Herbal Research, based in Mukono’s Muggulu area, has offered alternative healthcare using natural herbs and traditional knowledge. Uganda’s rural communities often lack easy access to formal healthcare services, making herbal remedies a valuable resource. This research center has served an estimated 15,000 people, providing treatments derived from locally available trees and plants. These herbal remedies cater to a range of common ailments, helping community members find affordable, accessible health solutions. Supported by Nescho Foundation, Bamubiru Mazima Bugagga helps preserve Uganda’s rich heritage of herbal knowledge while offering safe, natural health care for underprivileged groups.

Everton, Bira Football Club

The Everton, Bira Football Club engages over 200 youth each year in structured sports programs aimed at developing athletic skills, teamwork, and discipline. Since its inception, this program has transformed the lives of more than 3,000 young Ugandans by offering them a positive outlet and a space for personal development. In Uganda, where limited recreational activities can increase the likelihood of youth falling into negative influences, the football club provides an alternative that fosters discipline and community pride. With regular training sessions, community events, and local tournaments, Everton, Bira Football Club has become a well-respected community asset, helping reduce youth-related crime by offering structured, meaningful activities and opportunities for growth.

Family Across Lifetimes – Support for the Elderly and School Children

Family Across Lifetimes is dedicated to assisting vulnerable elderly people and school children by providing essential supplies. Nescho Foundation ensures that around 100 school-going children have access to the necessary scholastic materials, reducing absenteeism and improving educational outcomes. For the elderly, this program provides regular supplies of food, clothing, and other basic needs, supporting over 20 senior citizens. In Uganda, where extended family support is not always available, this initiative helps prevent malnutrition and improves the quality of life for elderly individuals who lack resources. Family Across Lifetimes fosters a community of care and respect, offering dignity and practical support.
